Post subject: AFC Cross Keys 0 - 6 Dodworth Miners Welfare
What can i say about this result. I think in fairness to dodworth it could have been more. We just didnt turn up. We must have had to wait a good half hour on the pitch before any dodworth players turned up and with us having a good warm up and them having to go into game straight away we expected to start brightly but it was them that started the better
For about half hour we coped pretty well with their attackers, one of the being 4ft tall but like a whippet the other just a muppet. Then half hour in the whippet latched onto a ball from the muppet and was taken down in our box by our make shift defender to award them a pen from which they scored. Then not 3 mins later a ball came fizzing across the area only to hit my arm which was at the side of me and not even raised and they were awarded yet another pen from which they also scored
Feeling hard done by we carried on trying to break them down but their defence held up. The muppet was lucky to stay on the pitch cause he was clearly wanting to try hurt one of us and it wasnt til he went through me as i cleared a ball that he got a yellow.
Second half we changed a few things and went from 442 to 352 but it backfired going down 6-0 in the end.
In summary they werent a bad side and look like they might challenge come the end of the season. They have some idiots but generally they werent a bad tempered side and played good football. We just didnt turn up and if we play like that all season i will be joining in with the banter in div 3 room with who ever gets left there next season.
