We played the new team in div 2 this season Rose of York on saturday at home in a very competitive game to say the least. The keys went into the game missing 6-7 key players including most of our defence due to one of the lads wedding. Both teams started the game brightly and the keys looked like getting on the score sheet first but it was Rose who scored first after a defensive mistake let their striker in on goal. The keys tried to respond but just couldnt get the equalizer before the secondhalf.
From the restart Rose kept pressing our defence and looked like getting a second and it came shortly after the restart. We in truth struggled after going 2 down against a pretty well organised rose team and due to moments of greediness on our part put our already depleted defence under even more pressure. Rose then bagged a third before we managed to get a goal back with about 20 mins to go. We then pressed for more goals but the game threatened to boild over after some more decisions from the ref and constant moaning from both sides. Then rose's right back blatanly elbowed our striker and all hell broke lose. There was no need for such an act but to his credit the lad did apologise thus addmitting responsiblilty. Why there central midfielder needed to stick his nose in is beyond me but after 5 mins of calming people down the game resumed and shortly after rose bagged a 4th. After that they just came at us and most of my lads just stopped trying. How it only ended up 5 i dont know but the defence and keeper managed to stop numerous attempts.
In summary Rose look like a good side and will do well in our league but hopefully next time we meet we will have our full strength side out and the result will not be as one sided.

Oh and thanks for coming back like you had agreed, One thing you will learn in this league is that when a team says they will come back and dont its really annoying. We all need teams back to try and make some extra money for the club.
