Absolutely gutted.very tight game with very few clear cut chances.When they played football they looked the better side but we stuck to our game plan and it nearly came off.They resorted to the long ball alot of the time but we defended really well and tried to counter them on the break down the flanks.Flannery scored the winner with 15 mins to go after our  keeper spilled a shot from the edge of the box.Very competative from both sides,could have boiled over but thats what local league football is all about.We just couldn't find that final pass unfortunately.Thought the ref and officials looked after the darlings of the league abit but we knew that would happen and just got on with it.Our gaffer even got warned at half time by the ref for shouting words of encouragement ! as it was upsetting the Airedale bench .Could anybody tell me if the offside rule has changed by the way ?
I think we proved we can play abit and did our lower leagues proud.
All in all well done to Airedale,they are a good well organised side with some good players but we'll come again.

Let's view the game from a £2 paying spectators point.

There were players from Alverthorpe, Crofton, Cherry Tree, Two Brewers and Royal Oak...........it was like watching paint dry.

You might find that as an insult.......however look at it as a compliment to Dodworth.........holding a side which has dominated the Premier Division for a good few years now apart from Cherry Tree.

Not a great deal of football, lots of long ball......few nerves perhaps.......rightly so.

One or two surprises in the Dodworth line up.......two of their best players on the flanks (the 2 dwarfs).........Charlie Bakker showed show nice touches (cultured I may add) alongside the dirdy cant Longy!

Where was the other lad in midfield who is a very good player??  Came on as no.15........wasted on the bench in my opinion, but I don't pick the team.  Nice to see Silent Assassin do his karate when he came on too....!!!!!!

Like I've said before I don't pick the Dodworth team and I'm sorry if I'm gonna upset somebody now........but who the fuck was that No.11?????  It's no wonder Sidey got pissed off!!!!  Enough said!

By far the three outsanding players for Dodworth were mini-me no.14 and I thought the two centre backs were superb....its clear to see why you don't concede many goals.

Did think it was poor a lot of players just walking off without shaking hands and one or two moaning.........gracious losers??????

Put it right against Wakey on Thursday and look forward to OUR cup final on bank holiday monday.......lets make it a spectacle for everybody watching.

Unlucky lads.......you did Division Two proud.....

Number 11 shoggy.Poor last night but scored loads of goals this season .I suppose from the spectators point of view it was poor and thats the least creative we've been all year.From our point of view its made us even more determined to beat you on the 5th.

unlucky dodworth i know its the last thing u wanna hear but u have done yourselves proud from what i have been told ... heard it was a very tight game maybe it just wasnt your day .. they are a decent team but no matter what league you play in if u get to a cup final anything can happen everybody is so up 4 it then the nerves kick in and it can rock the boat in terms of the way u like to play football ..

im sure u lads will get over it and bounce back and get up again next season .... well done to airdale even though i despise u ..

I wouldn't think about the cup final just yet.....you have a little battle with AFC Wakey on Thursday.....and wiv only TWO teams promoted from Division Two, it's winner takes all......don't blow it!

Yep, more than welcome to gatecrash the party!  Don't know what team we'll have out....think FBS is resting a lot of players....but who knows......put on a Thorpe shirt and get on the end of the team photo.......bit like that bloke who got on the Man Utd team photo........now that would be piss funny!!!!!

Plenty of food for you after.....can't imagine Wakey Utd tucking into  pie and peas can you????!!!!!
