makes a farce of the table tho - garforth are capable of taking points off morley - better than turning up with 8 men i suppose

We couldn't even get 8 fit players available on the day, it is all rather embarrassing really. It's been a big learning curve for us this season and we have learned some valuable lessons. Of course it doesn't help when half your squad are going to Aintree for the National as part of a stag do but don't bother to tell club management until it's too late to get a legal postponement.

Pure coincidence that the opposition was Morley on the two occasions we have been unable to field a side. Having undeservedly(our opinion) lost 2-1 at their place earlier in the season we would have relished the opportunity to play them again. Maybe a pre-season friendly can be arranged.

Apologies to Morley and anyone who feels this was wrong. We are happy to play the fixture but the League have awarded points to Morley as per the rules and we have also been fined.

We knew about the fixture from the website but were not officially informed in writing because the fixtures were posted to us without sufficient postage paid meaning they had to be collected from the sorting office  and the Post Office, bless, didn't bother to inform us for over a week that there was a letter waiting to be collected.

This is not cited as an excuse and I think the League would say that we should have informed them that we couldn't play on that date anyway within 28 days regardless of what fixture was affected.

We will be back next season with a stronger mix of youth and experience and armed with better off the field knowledge too.

I think you've got a good set up over there and the potential's massive. Its a shame you couldn't keep the side you had earlier in the season cos there was some quality players on show. If you keep the side that thumped us a few week ago and add a few then you'll challenge for the title next season

We were convinced that the stone throwing incidents were a figment of someone's imagination at the time.

It may be no coincidence though that certain individuals from the same family have not been seen since.

In reality the side improved as the season wore on but we suffered from not having strength in depth. All to often we were putting out 11 players that were not supported by quality subs. At the start of the season we had sufficient quality subs to give us options and finish the stronger side.

When we played you at Garforth we had several under 17 players on duty that gelled immediately with the more experienced players, though 3 or 4 regulars were in Edinburgh for yet another stag weekend.

With Sharpey(40) up front and Shane (45) in mid-field the average age was still quite good without them it would have been about 17 Very Happy
