After a mixed pre-season so far the keys rested some of the better players to give other lads a chance to claim their places. Couple that with yet another makeshift defence with at least 4 defenders missing and no keeper so we used a mates mate it was gonna make for an interesting game.
Both sides started off pretty confident with the ball being passed around the field. The keys in particular were playing a much better passing game then normal. Alverthorpe got on the score sheet first after an awful mistake by our stand in keeper. But the keys levelled through a great strike from our striker, Then alverthorpe hit back again with yet another poor mistake from our keeper only for us to draw level.The killer blow was the keys goals just before half time that seemed to knock the wind out of Alverthorpe
Second half we came out looking to make sure that we put the game to bed and scored pretty much straight away. From then on the alverthorpe heads went down and we managed to bag 7 goals in total but could have been more but for the performance of LOZ at the back and the keeper.
Alverthorpe look like a new side and need time to find their feet but i am sure it will come as long as the old (res side syndrome) doesnt happen as tends to in district football when the first team take the best players leaving the res side with a poor side.
